She was raised and attended school in Coldwater, Kansas until the mid 1950s and returned with her family back to Oklahoma settling in the town of Lehigh and attending high school at Coalgate. After graduating Edison High School in Tulsa in 1958, she attended Draughon’s Business School in Oklahoma City.
