He was born April 15, 1946 to Ross and Bessie Beatrice (Hughes) Reed at Pine, OK. Jim completed the 8th grade at Pine School, then graduated from Coalgate High School. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. Jim was a printer. He married the love of his life Peggy Jean Smith on June 22, 1968 at the First Baptist Church in Coalgate. Peggy spotted him across the school yard and said “That’s the one for me!” The rest was history. Together they had three beautiful daughters and a wonderful life together. Jim and Peggy celebrated 55 blessed years of marriage before his passing. Jim liked fishing, quail hunting, camping and a good game of dominoes He loved spending time with his family.
