It was there I started paying attention to Christmas. But like some other materialistic folk my age over there, I was really concerned with the season for Christmas gifts. Grant Applications Open for Rural Communities in Coal County through Jan. 31

The Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation is currently accepting grant applications for projects in Coal County communities with a population less than 6,000. Designed to improve the quality of life for rural Oklahomans, the program will award grants to qualified nonprofit organizations or entities of state and local government for projects that will positively impact the community in the areas of 1) arts/culture/ history, 2) health or 3) libraries/literacy.

COVID-19 update

On December 29, the Oklahoma State Department of Health listed Coal County with 462 total COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began, four virus-related deaths and 391 recovered cases. According to those numbers, Coal County has 67 active cases at this time.
