Heavybilt Mfg. receives Community Service Award

COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD — Heavybilt Manufacturing Inc. in Coalgate was the recipient of a Community Service Award for being the major employer of local citizens. Presenting the award to founder and President Steve Cody are Chamber President Johnny Sandmann and Betty Keilty, Chairman of the Board. Initially operating as Cody Bin Co., Cody began building overhead feed bins, eventually changing the name to Heavybilt Manufacturing Inc. (HMI), which the company is known as today. The company has grown from the sole production of overhead feed/grain bins in 1990 to a wide variety of agricultural products, including hay trailers, pasture sprayers, portable feed buggies and other agriculture necessities. They also manufacture products for the oil and gas, food and beverage, and wildlife industries. In 2014, HMI was named one of four winners of the Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance Governor’s Manufacturing Leadership Awards. (Note: Four awards were presented at the May 19 Chamber banquet. The other three recipients will be featured in upcoming issues of the paper.)
