WANDA UTTERBACK, EDITOR OF THE COALGATE RECORD REGISTER, was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Chamber in recognition of her many years of service to her profession and the manner in which she represents the citizens of Coal County. Bill and Dayna Robinson, publishers of the Coalgate Record Register, also presented her a plaque of appreciation. After 32 years with the newspaper, Wanda’s official retirement date was May 31, 2022. Roy Price Shoemake passed away peacefully in his sleep at home and surrounded by loved ones on May 27, 2022. He was born on September 11, 1937 in Lehigh, Oklahoma and graduated from Coalgate High School in 1956. He was the patriarch of his large and loving family and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services for Mary Frances (Breger) Roebuck, a Coalgate resident, were held Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Brother Eddie Hogue officiating. Burial was in Riley Cemetery in Olney with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.
