Read moreTraffic stop leads to arrest of suspected drug dealers On August 30 at approximately 6:35 p.m., Officer Corey McCollum conducted a routine traffic stop on a Honda SUV with a Maryland tag for following too closely and crossing the double yellow line, almost hitting McCollum’s patrol unit. The traffic stop led to the confiscation of over four pounds of marijuana, suspected hallucinogen, and cash.
Read moreMeth pipe discovered during traffic stop On August 27 at approximately 5:00 a.m., Deputy Jacob Peebles noticed a vehicle with no brake lights and proceeded to pull the vehicle over. The driver, identified as Thomas Lee Burkhart, 45, of Ada, informed the deputy that his license was suspended because of an unpaid ticket. Deputy Peebles asked Burkhart to step out of the vehicle. As he exited the vehicle, something fell from his lap into the floorboard. As it turned out, it was a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine.
Read moreVisitation for Roger Dale Cunningham, and Ada resident, formerly of Coalgate, was held Monday evening, September 5, 2022 at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Roger was born February 8, 1961 to George Washington and Emmalee (Woodell) Cunningham at Pauls Valley, OK and passed away August 31, 2022 at Ada, OK at the age of 61 years, 6 months and 23 days. He graduated from Olney High School class of ‘79. Roger married Jamie Jannette Price on June 27, 2016 at Ft. Smith, AR. He was a heavy equipment operator, a police officer, correction officer, mechanic, welder and dozer operator. Roger was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and cooking. Roger loved playing with his grand-children.
