Sherrry Farris

LEFT—Sherrry Farris-Many in Coalgate recognize Sherry Farris whenever she is seen around town. There are many, though, who recognize her as their teacher or their children’s teacher. Mrs. Farris was a familiar face in the halls of Emerson many years ago. She started teaching in 1971 and retired in 2002. During that period, she taught Kindergarten and Special Education. She was the reading specialist at Emerson for a couple of years until the administration needed another first-grade teacher. Her first-year teaching first grade, she had thirty-three students.
