Our Sympathies extended to the families of... Doris Josephine Hopkins
Graveside services for Doris Josephine (Lemons) Guinn Hopkins, a Coalgate resident, were held Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Coalgate Cemetery with Mr. Vaden Morgan officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hopkins was born May 29, 1934 to Jessie Levi and Laura Ellis (Darnell) Lemons at Mowdy Community in Coal County and passed away December 11, 2020 at Coalgate at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 12 days. She attended and graduated from Ashland High School. Doris was a waitress at the Dairy Dream and worked at Wrangler retiring in 1995. She married Vester Guinn and later married Gene Hopkins in 2005 at Pine and Legal. He preceded her in death in 2012. Doris was a member of the Pine and Legal Church of Christ. She enjoyed listening to old country music. Some of her favorites were John Hampton and the Ed and Jolene radio show. Doris loved to travel and go out to eat, and enjoyed baking with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Paul Wesley Guinn and wife Donna of Coalgate; son-in-law, Jim Williams of Coalgate; grandchildren, Jimmy Dale Williams and wife Terri of Sherman, TX, Stephanie Dawn McNutt and husband Jeremy, Amber Sjulestad and husband Robbie, Tara LeAnn Guinn, all of Coalgate, Tandra Rae Hamilton and husband, Tim of Lindsey, OK; great-grandchildren, Makaylyn Mitchell and husband Josh of Piedmont, OK, Alex McNutt and wife Harley of Bentley, OK, Destini Branam and husband Trevor of McAlester, OK, Laci Sjulestad, Mersadey McNutt, Autumn Sjulestad, Natalie Washburn, Axel McNutt, Lexi Washburn, Kody Sjulestad, all of Coalgate, Kameron Hamilton, Landri Hamilton, both of Lindsey, OK; three great-great-grandchildren, Jaxson McNutt, Elayna Mitchell and Rocky McNutt; sister, Thelma Dority of Coalgate; brother, Jerry Lemons and wife Bonnie of Coalgate; sister-in-law, Betty Lemons of Coalgate; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Gayle Williams, and brother, Kenneth Lemons.
Casketbearers were Dale Williams, Robbie Sjulestad, Alex McNutt, Axel McNutt, Jeremy McNutt, and Shane Orr. Honorary bearers were Ronald “Red” Orr, Larry Orr, and Richard Orr.
