A memorial service will be held at a later date for Shirley Louise Kelsey, a longtime Atoka, OK resident. Mrs. Kelsey was born October 7, 1956 to Otis Dewayne and Ruby Mae (Toombs) Farrell at Bakersfield, CA and passed away June 20, 2024 at Atoka, OK at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 13 days. She attended Utica School and married Thomas Lloyd Kelsey, Sr. at Durant, OK. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1999. Shirley was a housewife and homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. Shirley enjoyed playing games on her phone, playing the Wii, watching movies, especially vampire movies, and loved taking care of her children and grandchildren.

Tupelo 5th Grade received a Carolyn Watson Community Foundation grant for etiquette lessons and an etiquette luncheon. Students learned how to tie a tie, shake hands, speak in public, resolve conflict, table settings, and how to write a Thank You, among many other skills. At the end of the semester, students had their Etiquette Luncheon at the Oak Hills Country Club in Ada, OK.
