Norma “Sue” Cosper Passes Away

Funeral services for Norma “Sue” Cosper, of Holdenville, were held Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson- Phillips Chapel in Holdenville with Pastor Randy Miller officiating. Burial was in Non Cemetery with Hudson-Phillips Funeral Service in charge of arrangements. Viewing was 9:00 a.m. to 7”00 p.m. Wednesday February 5, 2025 at the Chapel. Family greeted guest from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Cosper was born on May 15, 1949, in Ada, Oklahoma to Norman Henry McCarley and Cletis Nadine McCarley and passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Holdenville General Hospital at the age of 75. She attended Coalgate High School and was a seamstress at Blue Bell/ Wrangler for many years. Sue enjoyed watching grandkids play sports, family get togethers, and shopping. She married Leroy Cosper on March 1st, 1968, in Bethany, Oklahoma.

Sue is preceeded in death by her father Norman McCarley; mother Cletis Graves; stepfather Carson Graves; father-inlaw Ernest Cosper; mother-in-law Wilma Cosper; brothers-inlaw Buster Morrison, James Cosper and Randell Deviney; and son Randy Cosper.

Sue is survived by her husband Leroy Cosper of the home; daughter Shonda and Eddy Benedict of Roff, Oklahoma, daughter Linda and Jeff Shuman of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; grandchildren Matt and Alayna Benedict of Latta, Oklahoma, Brady Benedict of Roff, Oklahoma, Jenna and Wylie Ransbottom of Ammon, Idaho, Rocky Shuman of Buffalo, Oklahoma, Brody Shuman of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren Bryar Benedict, Beau Ransbottom and Braylee Benedict; sisters Glenda Morrison of Norman, Oklahoma, Centhy and Steve Wainscott of Calvin, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law Ernestine Golden of McAlester, Oklahoma, Violet Kay and Randal Miller of Meeker, Oklahoma, Jeanne and Eddy French of McAlester, Oklahoma, Jaquita and Rick Deviney of Maysville, Oklahoma, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers were Matt Benedict, Brady Benedict, Rocky Shuman, Brody Shuman, Shane Wainscott, Cody Wainscott, Wes Wainscott, Koda Wainscott, and Justin Lawrence.
