Funeral services for Earl Dean Hobbie

Funeral services for Earl Dean Hobbie, age 81, an Atoka, OK resident were held Monday, February 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Pastor Wendell Ingram officiating. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery in Wapanucka, OK with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.
He was born on Monday, August 16, 1943, to Earl and Bonnie (Stamps) Hobbie, at Wapanucka, OK where he was raised. Dean passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Lexington, OK.
He attended and graduated from Wapanucka High School with the Class of ‘61. Dean worked at Bell Helicopter for four years and also did maintenance work. He was a pipeliner and retired at 58.
Dean proudly served his country in The United States Navy for three years. He went into the Navy at 17 out of high school. He married Donna (Carter) on Thursday, November 21st, 1963 at Clarita, Oklahoma. Dean was a member of the Wapanucka Baptist Church and was baptized at 10 years old. He liked to fish, hunt, and work on things. Dean supported and loved to watch his granddaughter, Katelyn, barrel race. Dean is survived by his wife, Donna Hobbie of the home in Atoka, OK; granddaughter, Katelyn Hobbie; sister, Betty Lowe; nephews, Kevin Lowe and wife Kristy, and Danny Lowe and wife Heasuk; great nephews and nieces, Jonathen Lowe and wife Elisabeth, Brian Lowe and wife Cayna, Angelica Lowe, and Hailey Lowe; great-great nieces, MaKenna Lowe, and Jessa Lowe; along with other relatives. Dean is preceded in death by his sons, Michael Hobbie, Steve Hobbie, and Terry Hobbie; parents, Earl and Bonnie (Stamps) Hobbie; and brother, Larry Hobbie. Casketbearers were Frank Workman, Shane Harrison, Mike Harrison, Scott Harrison, Terry J. Harrison, Danny Lowe, Kevin Lowe, and Jim Miller.
