Andrew Kenneth Morrison

Andrew Kenneth Morrison, age 67, of Morrison, OK, died Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in Oklahoma City. A private family service was held on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation was in charge of the arrangements.

Andrew was born in Inglewood, California. He spent his younger years in Pennsylvania, then southern Oklahoma, moving to Stillwater when he started high school. After high school, he joined the Army and was stationed in Panama. On completion of his military duties, Andrew made a trip with a friend to New Mexico and decided to stay. He was a firefighter/ EMT with the Los Alamos Fire Department until his retirement in 2005. Andrew made friends wherever he went, and he held those friendships dear throughout his life.

He loved fishing, hunting and hiking in the Jemez mountains. Always ready to take a friend to his favorite fishing spot and spend the day sharing stories of his experiences, of which he had many. He obtained his pilot’s license as a young man and loved all things related to aviation. He was also a history buff and had a wealth of knowledge on the subject. He was generous and kind with a quick wit that could always make you laugh.

He married his high school sweetheart in 2000 and moved back to Oklahoma in 2005, settling in Morrison where he spent the remainder of his life, still making friends and telling stories. He was a truly unique and wonderful man who will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Kenneth Morrison and his mother, Naomi Ruth Mayer. Survived by his wife, Tammy, and his two brothers, Mike Mayer (Rosana) and Bruno Mayer.
