Lenus Leon Batchelor
Lenus Leon Batchelor, 72, of Tupelo, OK, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at his loving daughter’s home, surrounded by his family. Lenus was born on September 19, 1952 in Coalgate, OK to his parents, Leonard Leon Batchelor and Maggie Faye Batchelor (Sanders). He attended and graduated at Olney High School in 1970 and he went on to become a well respected and trusted automotive mechanic and proud fireman for over thirtyfour years.
Right after he graduated high school, he married the love of his life, Diana Batchelor, on May 15, 1971 in Tupelo, OK and together they shared thirty-four wonderful years together. During Lenus’s working life, not only was he known for his mechanic skills, but he worked for Coal County District 1, was employed by Rick Ellis, and was also assistant fire chief of the Tupelo Fire Department for thirty-four years before he decided it was time to retire. Lenus kept himself busy, always doing something, and when he did find time to relax, he would enjoy a nice day fishing or a little hunting. He loved his dogs, his friends and his family. Lenus’s caring heart and love he showed will forever be missed by everyone that was a part of his life. Lenus is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Maggie Batchelor, his sisters Kathlene and Christian, and his brothers Raymond and Edward Perry.
Lenus is survived by his sister Chisjean, his brothers Lonnie Dale, and Jo Ed, his daughter Monic Morgan and Darrill of Centrahoma, his daughter Angela Gray and husband Bubba of Tupelo, his bonus daughter Dawnia Young of Ardmore, his grandchildren Dalton, Dakota, Christian, Joseph, Emiley and Noah, his great grandchildren Liam, Levi, Charlotte, and two more on the way, Jensen and Sarin, plus many more relatives and friends.
The family is honoring Lenus’s life privately.
