Marian Jeannette (Marrs) Harris

Marian Jeannette (Marrs) Harris, a Coalgate resident, passed away February 17, 2024 at Sherman, TX at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 25 days. She was born July 23, 1949 to Gerald Ray and Merlon Pratt (Blankenship) Marrs, at Dallas, TX. Marian attended Duncanville Schools and married Curtis Harris on August 9, 1980 in Denton, TX.

They celebrated 19 years together before his passing on January 14, 2000. Marian was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She liked doing cross stitch and loved to read. Her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Sheila Sewell and husband William of Palestine, TX and Wesley Vick of Seven Points, TX; grandchildren, Cory Sewell, Cody Sewell, Ashley Eyer, Nathan Vick, Caleb Taylor, Tiffany Vick and Jade Vick; seven great- grandchildren; siblings, Barbara Marrs of Garland, TX, Gerry Lou Washburn and husband Larry of Wylie, TX, Sidney Marrs and wife Roxanne of Forney, TX; daughter-in-law, Tanya Taylor of Olney, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dearly loved friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Harris; father, Gerald Ray Marrs; mother Merlon Pratt (Blankenship) Marrs; son, Darrell Vick; and father of her children, Claude Vick.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate.
