Richard “Rick” Lynn Eddings

Funeral services for Richard “Rick” Lynn Eddings, a Coalgate resident, were held Monday, December 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor Kurtis Stoll officiating. Burial was in McCarty Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Eddings was born February 7, 1955 to Baley Levi and Evelyn Christine (Dudley) Eddings at Coalgate, OK and passed away November 30, 2023 at his home in Coalgate at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 23 days. He graduated from Coalgate High School with the class of 1974. Rick married Anna Karen Thornhill on August 8, 1998 at Hartshorne, OK. They were blessed with 25 years together. Rick was a cattle rancher and also a contractor, building metal buildings. He belonged to the Calvin Baptist Church and was a member of the Pine and Parker Volunteer Fire Department. Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, cattle, woodworking, drawing, painting and whittling.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Eddings of the home in Coalgate; children, Jason Eddings and wife Amanda of Ada, OK, Amanda Eddings of Moore, OK, and Roy Hopkins and wife Ashley of Coalgate; daughter-in-law, Kristi Eddings of Stuart, OK; grandchildren, Kaylin, Jaycee, Abby, Landon, Caleb and Mikie; sisters, Debbie Krebbs and husband Charlie of Coalgate and Kay Blunck and husband David of Norman, OK; and great-grandson, Wesley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Baley Levi and Evelyn Christine Eddings and son, Shane Eddings.

Casketbearers were Earl DePasse, Raymond DePasse, Joel Coffee, Tim Rushing, Jimmy Eddings, and David Enrico. Honorary bearers were Rusty Price, Bobby England, Robby Jones, Audley Barnes, David Shores, Gary Coffee and Bob Long.
