Ruth Lee Hembree

Funeral services for Ruth Lee (McClendon) Hembree, a long time Farris, OK resident, were held Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Bro. John Jacuk officiating. Burial was in Farris Cemetery in Farris with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hembree was born September 28, 1932 to Harry Hillard and Goldie Mulberry (Hicks) McClendon at Crystal, OK and passed away March 18, 2022 at Farris, OK at the age of 89. She attended high school and married Otto Samuel Hembree July 26, 1949 at Paris, TX. They were married for 47 wonderful years before Otto’s passing in 1996.

Ruth was a seamstress for Blue Bell in Coalgate for many years. She was a member of Farris Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, junking, sewing, spending time with her family and loved going out to check on her cows.

Survivors include her children, Sam Hembree and wife Rose of Antlers, OK, Barbara Goff and husband Mike, and Mike Hembree, all of Farris, OK; grandchildren, Kelly Langley and Eric House, Kevin Hembree and wife Melissa, all of Antlers, Kristi Goff, Tim Goff both of Farris, Cody Hembree and wife Melissa of Antlers, Tory Hembree and wife Nancy, Cory Hembree and Sylvia, all of Farris, OK; twelve great-grand-children; two great-great-grand-children; siblings, Kenneth McClendon and wife Lois of Milwaukee, WI, Glen McClendon and wife Joan of Atoka, Larry McClendon, Goldie McClendon, both of McAlester, Linda Fendley and husband Ron of Paris, TX; sisters-in-law, Margaret McClendon of Farris, and Janice McClendon of Euless, TX; special friends, Roberta Wilson, Ramona Davis, both of Crystal, OK, Connie Smith and Dorothy Flowers, both of Farris, OK; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Samuel Hembree; parents, Harry Hillard and Goldie Mulberry (Hicks) McClendon; brothers, Frances McClendon, Randall McClendon and wife Jesse, and Bill McClendon; sisters, Annabell Nanney and husband Earl, Merlene Dolchok and husband Mack.

Casketbearers were Tim Goff, Cody Hembree, Tory Hembree, Cory Hembree, Tyler Hembree, Dillion Hembree, Tanner O’Bannion and Ty O’Bannion. Honorary bearers were Kevin Hembree, Kelly Langley, Kristi Goff, Mallory Langley, Rance Langley Kaylee Hembree, Holli Hembree, Kinly Hembree, Kollins Hembree, Maeson Goff and Greyson Goff.
