Georgia Estella Lawrence

Funeral services for Georgia Estelle (Smith) Lawrence, a Coalgate resident, will be held Friday, April 1, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Bro. Joey Lansdale officiating. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery in Clarita, OK with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lawrence was born January 10, 1947 to George Elvin and Reba Estelle (Brassfield) Smith at Cotton Clinic in Atoka, OK and passed away March 24, 2022 at Coalgate, OK at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 14 days.

Georgia attended Limestone Gap School and graduated from Kiowa High School in the Class of ‘65. She married Allen Lee Lawrence September 19, 1970 at Ada, OK. They were blessed with 45 wonderful years together before his death on November 3, 2015. Georgia was secretary for the Coal County Conservation District, retiring in 2006 after 40 years of service. She grew up near Chockie, OK, was raised in the Pentecostal faith, attending church at Tipperary and Chockie and was baptized in Buck Creek. Georgia loved fishing, reading, watching sports and following her family’s activities on Facebook. She was a Nascar fan and was a loyal worker and loved her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Lori Perez Warren and Joseph Sallee, Leslie Lee Lawrence and Randy Fugate, all of Coalgate, and Kara (Lawrence) Hunt and husband Arnem of Olney, OK; grandchildren, Charlie Warren, Courtney Warren and Logan Byrd, all of Coalgate, Eli Hunt of Olney, OK, Heather Fugate and husband Greg Salazar of Tyler, TX; greatgrandchildren, Ford Warren and Lightnin Warren, Noah Salazar and Sarah Salazar; sisters-in-law, Debbie Weathers of Cottonwood, OK, Betty Stanley and husband Jerry of Oklahoma City, and Tammy Henry and husband Roy of Caney, OK; brother-in-law, Don Lawrence and wife Cheryl of Olney, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dearly loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Lee Lawrence; parents, George Elvin and Reba Estelle (Brassfield) Smith; sisters, Imogene (Smith) Thompson and Jacqueline (Smith) McEntire; and brother, Byron Dale Smith.

Casketbearers will be Ramsey Burris, Bradley Hamilton, Billy Lee Hamilton, Russell Hampton, Preston Newman, Greg Stanley, Vince Beck, Toxey Haze Franklin and Warren Sanders. Honorary bearers will be Eli Hunt, Mary Lacy Beets, Alice Windham, Carol Stiles, Kevin Stanley, Tony Potts, Donna Griffins Deshoza, Marsha Mitchell and Judy Wilson.
