Service held for Barbara Louise Cook

Funeral services for Barbara Louise (McGinty) Cook were held Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Browns Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Bro. Leslie Marler and Bro. Brad Carey officiating. Burial was in Boggy Depot Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka.

Mrs. Cook was born March 7, 1952 to Thomas and Armenttia Bell (Henderson) McGinty at Bentley, OK and passed away November 22, 2019 at Sherman, TX at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 15 days. She attended school at Bentley and Atoka and married Calvin Ray Cook August 18, 1967 in Atoka OK. They had 34 years of marriage before his passing on June 2, 2002. Barbara was a housewife and homemaker and attended the General Assembly and Church of the First Born. She loved reading, watching Hallmark movies, and gardening her flowers. Barbara especially loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

Survivors include her children, Sandra Eden and husband Charles of Atoka, Deana Orr and husband Richard of Coalgate, Jerri Elliott and husband Dustin of Tulsa, Stephanie Cook of Atoka, Faith Robinson and husband Cheyenne of Chickasha, OK and Calvin Brian Cook and wife Valerie of Durant, OK; grandchildren, Scott Fugate and wife Marisa, Sean Wahlenberg of Atoka, Shane Orr, Aaron Orr and wife Kelsi, Daniel Orr, Dylan Orr of Coalgate, Marshall Robinson, Raegen Robinson of Chickasha, Calvin Tre’Charles Cook, Natalie Lynn Cook, Vaili Bradley, and Victoria Bradley of Durant, OK; great-grandchildren, Paislee Orr, Jenny Orr of Coalgate, Ava Fugate and Mason Denton of Atoka; siblings, Thomas Mc-Ginty, Raymond McGinty of Ft. Gibson, OK, James McGinty and wife Audie of Farris, OK, Thelma Vanderveer and husband James of Calvin, OK and Marilyn Figg of Atoka.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; in-laws, DM and Vivian Cook; brothers-in-law, Clay Cook, Roger Cook and Thomas Figg; brother, Earl McGinty; sister, Debbie McCool; nephews, Matthew Harrison and Tommy Flynn; and special friend, Linda Henderson.

Casketbearers were Steven Callicoat, Barry Cook, Cody Cook, J. D. Henderson, Joey Henderson and John Cook. Honorary bearers were T. J. Figg, Brad Harrison, Ross Henderson, Anthony Henderson, Charles Adams and P. D. Henderson.
