Service held for Danny Matthew Johnson
Memorial services for Danny Matthew Johnson, 53, of Tupelo were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Allen, Pastor Larry Beach officiated. Viewing was from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday. The family received friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada.
Mr. Johnson passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at his home. He was born November 12, 1966 at Ada to Murriel Johnson, Sr. and Florence Leona Wall Johnson. He graduated from Allen High School in 1985. He was a longtime resident of the Allen and Tupelo areas.
Mr. Johnson was a truck driver and had served as the Captain of the Tupelo Volunteer Fire Department for over 16 years. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Danny enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time with his friends, and golfing. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include his parents, Murriel and Florence Johnson of Allen; his children, Tabitha Johnson and husband Alex, Kansas City, MO, Steven Johnson and wife Eliza, Ada, Devin Johnson and wife Ally, Ada, and Jena Johnson, Coalgate; the mother of his children, Shawna Johnson, Coal-gate; four brothers, Roy Johnson and wife Lula, Oktaha, Randall Johnson, Ada, Terry Johnson, Allen, and Clark Johnson and wife Michelle, Perkins; a sister, Patty Daniels and husband Oshiel, Ada; his grandchildren, Chrissy Johnson, Kansas City, MO, Isabella Johnson, Kansas City, MO, Carlisle Johnson, Ada, and a grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Murriel Johnson, Jr.
Honorary bearers were the Tupelo Volunteer Fire Department and his many close friends.
