Service held for Delores Ann Lewis
Funeral services for Delores Anne (Frazier) Lewis, a resident of Stratford, OK for the past 19 years, (a longtime Pittsburg County resident, also lived in the Dow, Savanna and Kiowa communities) were held Monday, December 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Pastor Ernest Rosa officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka, OK.
Mrs. Lewis was born June 4, 1950 to Edgel and Clovis Lavada (Belvin) Frazier at Talihina, OK and passed away December 11, 2019 at Ada, OK at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 7 days. She attended Dow Elementary, Savanna Middle School and graduated from Kiowa High School before attending Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Delores married Gaylon Ray Lewis February 26, 1972 at Kiowa, OK. They were married for 47 years before her passing. Delores was a housewife and homemaker. She also worked as a secretary for the flight instructors at Will Rogers Airport, a medical transcriptionist at Carl Albert Indian Hospital in Ada and many years at the Purcell Hospital and Choctaw Nation doing transcripts. Delores attended Coalgate Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation and loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. Delores loved to visit with friends and family and loved looking at the countryside. She had a passion for growing flowers, loving her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Gaylon Ray Lewis of Stratford; children, Keri Foster and husband Howard of Pauls Valley, OK and Kelly Lewis of Stratford, OK; grandchildren, Clayton Pearson, Elisabeth Rogers, Lilly Rogers, all of Pauls Valley and Skyler Lewis of Stratford; siblings, Pamela Cole and husband Carey, James Frazier and wife Vicki all of Coalgate, Joni Gonzalez of Norman, OK, Rebecca Pickens of Coalgate, William Frazier of Tushka, Stephen Frazier of Wardville, and Lucinda Kuykendall and husband Bill of Cartwright, OK; brothers-in-law, Danny Lewis of Purcell, OK and Michael Lewis and wife Aida of Wayne, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edgel Frazier; mother, Lavada (Belvin) Frazier Duke; and sister, Carolyn Ned.
Casketbearers were Howard Foster, Kelly Lewis, Clayton Pearson, Carey Cole, Stephen Frazier, and Bill Kuykendall.
