Sammie Joe Powell

Services for Sammie Joe Powell II, a Los Angeles, CA resident, will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Bro Joey Lansdale officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Powell was born June 22, 1983 to Sammie Joe and Gaylene Sue (Hardin) Powell at Durant, OK and passed away September 23, 2021 at Los Angeles, CA at the age of 38 years, 3 months and 1 day. He graduated from Conroe High School and then attended Wyoming Technical School to be a specialty painter. Sammie was an auto mechanic. He loved to draw, play pool and work on cars.

Survivors include his mother, Gaylene Glover of Durant, OK; sister, Ashley Stuteville and husband Eric of Durant, OK; aunt, Carlotta Hardin of Farris, OK; uncle, Terry Hardin and wife Sherri of Farris, OK; cousins, Danny Hammons of Panola, OK, Kerrie Daniel of Coalgate, OK, Tracy Yates and wife Tina of Edmond, OK and Larry Hardin and wife Michelle of Atoka, OK; along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

He was preceded in death by is father, Sam Powell; grandparents, Virgil P. and Pauline Hardin and stepfather, Bill Glover.
