Our Sympathies extended to the families of... Lonnie Sevier
Funeral services for Lonnie Carol Sevier, a Hephzibah, GA resident, were held Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Atoka Funeral Home Chapel in Atoka, followed by a graveside service at Moore Cemetery in Clarita, OK presided by Rev. Kenneth Kraft. Atoka Funeral Home Service of Atoka was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sevier was born March 1, 1947 to the late J E. (Honest Ed) and Bertha Sevier and passed away January 2, 2021 after battling cancer for months at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 1 day. He was the eleventh of thirteen children and attended schools in Centrahoma and Olney, OK. Upon graduation from high school, Lonnie joined the Army and along with several of his classmates traveled to Vietnam for their senior trip. During his 20 year military career in the U S. Army he served multiple overseas tours in Vietnam, Germany, and Korea. His stateside stints included the 1st and 2nd Armored Division s at Ft. Hood, TX and as a Senior Instructor and Drill Sgt. at the U. S. Army Signal School, Ft.Gordon, GA. Upon his military retirement, he was hired asa member of the paramilitary protective force at the Department of Energy Savannah River Site until his retirement in 2009. He was a faithful member of his church where he served on the Board of Directors. He also served as a senior member of the road crew for Eryn Eubanks and the Family Fold Gospel/Bluegrass band and enjoyed driving his 85 year old friend, Jim Jewel, to their many gigs. His hobbies included bass and crappie fishing, spending time with friends and family and doting on his grandchildren. Lonnie loved God, his family and church family and was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Myong; daughter, Kimberly Kraft; three grandchildren, Dylan, Lauren and Daniel all of Evans, GA; brother Randell (Mary) Sevier of Duncan, OK; sister, Ann Kehemund of Okeene, OK; eight nephews; six nieces and many cousins and distant relatives in Oklahoma.
Pallbearers were Wayne Sevier, Kris Kraft, Dylan Kraft, Larry Sevier, Javin Ricketts and Beau Ketchum. Honorary bearers were Danny Kehemund and Daniel Kraft.
