Linda Sue Ainsworth
Linda Sue (Hallmark) Ainsworth 77, passed from this life in Ada, OK on November 2, 2024 after a prolonged illness.
Linda was born July 4, 1947 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Susan Safrona (Cooksey) and James Edward Hallmark. In 1965 she graduated from Tishomingo High School before attending Murray State College where she earned an Associates Degree in Secretarial Science in 1967. Murray is also where she met Gary Ainsworth who became her life long partner and they were married January 17, 1967. Together they had two daughters, Lisa and Landa.
Upon completion of the Paralegal Studies Program at the University of Oklahoma Law Center, Linda worked as a Paralegal Specialist at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant where she was afforded the opportunity to participate in the Women’s Executive Leadership Program in Washington DC in 1992. Having possessed the same entrepreneurial spirit as her husband Gary, they were partners in several business ventures over the years most notably becoming co-owners of State Beauty Supply of Ada in 1997. They expanded rapidly adding Oklahoma locations in Ardmore, McAlester and Durant and later Texas locations in Sherman, Carrollton and Downtown Dallas.
Linda was an OU Sooner football enthusiast and a proud Oklahoma girl. She loved to travel, having visited many locations throughout the world with family and friends.
Linda is survived by her daughters Lisa Ainsworth and partner Jay of Konawa OK; Landa Ainsworth of Portland OR; nieces Robin Parks of Tupelo OK; Laura Keester and husband Dale of Jones OK; nephew Jacky Hallmark and wife Connie of Bromide OK; nephew Mickey Hallmark and wife Patty of Moore OK; and niece Brenda Olsen of Oklahoma City.
In Texas she is survived by her nieces Sue Hargrove and husband Dudley; Sharon Kabrich and husband Calvin; Janene Walker and husband Don; Valerie Pina and husband Michael; as well as niece, Vickie Hallmark. On her husband’s side she is survived by one nephew, David Ainsworth and his partner Madonna as well as David’s children Andrea and Zachery Ainsworth. She will also be missed by many extended family members and friends.
Linda was predeceased by her husband Gary Ainsworth; parents Safrona and Ed as well as her brothers; Herman, Arlin, Jack, Joe, Ray and Jim and sisters Pauline Wilson and Melba Barnett.
The family will have a private memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers Linda would be honored to have a donation made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or any charity of your choosing.
