Kenneth Lynn Keeler
Funeral services for Kenneth Lynn Keeler, a Coalgate resident, were held Friday, January 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor David Unsell officiating. Burial was in Lehigh Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Keeler was born August 20, 1941 to Carl Allen and Clara Reginald (Long) Keeler in Coal County, OK and passed away January 24, 2021 at Oklahoma City at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 4 days. He attended Coalgate Schools and some college and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War earning a Combat Action Ribbon while attached to Costal Squadron One (Swift Boats). Kenneth was a Chief in the Navy as an Engine Operator for 20 years.
After retirement, he went on to work as a civil contractor with the Air Force. Upon moving back to the Coalgate area, he worked at the McAlester Ammunition Plant. Kenneth married Jocelyn Malis Amayag on December 21, 1976 at Subic Zambales, Philippines. He was a Master Mason and of the Baptist Faith. Kenneth enjoyed a lot of fishing with his wife Jocelyn.
Survivors include his wife, Jocelyn Malis Amayag; son, Richard Keeler and wife Aisa of Lake Forrest, CA; daughter, Elizabeth Keeler of Corpus Christi, TX; grandsons, Kenneth James Keeler of Lake Forrest, CA, Alejandro Nevarro of Corpus Christi, TX, Cody Boyd and Jason Boyd both of Sulphur, OK; granddaughters, Kamille Anne Keeler of Lake Forrest, CA, Aislin Nevarro of Corpus Christi, TX, Shelby Schroeder of Perkins, OK, Chelsea Troutman and husband Jeremy of Ft. Riley, KS; sisters, Lois Livingston of Lehigh, OK, Leona Jensen of Azalea, OR, along with numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Allen and Clara Reginald (Long) Keeler; daughters, Nannette Morris, Tonya Keeler and Anna Lou Keeler; son, Kenneth Darrell Keeler; brothers, Carl Keeler, Richard Keeler, Doyle Keeler and Leroy Keeler; and sisters, Anna Estep and Melba Sue Slocum.
Casketbearers were Richard Keeler, Stephen Keeler, Sean Keeler, Bryan Keeler, Brandon Keeler, Floyd Keeler. Honorary bearers were Jason Boyd and Cody Boyd.
