John William Rector
Funeral services for John William Rector, a lifelong Atoka County resident, will be held Friday, December 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery in Lane, OK with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements. Family night will be Thursday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the chapel.
Mr. Rector was born December 20, 1954 to Billy Otto and Lorena Gale (Butler) Rector at Fullerton, CA and passed away December 17, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Farris, OK at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 27 days. He graduated from Atoka High School with the class of 1974. John proudly served in the U.S. Army and married Judy (Cottrell) August 20, 1983 at Farris, OK. They celebrated 40 years of marriage before his passing. John was self employed as a mechanic. He attended Farris Baptist Church and enjoyed listening to classic rock music, playing poker, going to the cabin with his guys, hunting, fishing, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and tinkering in his shop.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Rector of the home in Farris, OK; daughters, Brandi Rector, Amanda Rector both of Farris, Kandi Rector and husband David West of Purcell, OK, Britani Leforce and husband Jason of Farris and Rose Rector of Olney, OK; special daughter Ashtyn Bible of Coalgate, OK; numerous grandchildren; two greatg randchildren; brother, Jimmie Ham and wife Cindy of Farris; sister, Brenda Wilson and husband Bobby of Farris; father, Billy Rector of Farris; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorena Rector and brother, Stanley Ham.
Casketbearers will be Jakeb Pollard, William Hawkins, Jarett Cottrell, JW Cottrell, David West, and Jason Leforce. Serving as honorary bearers will be George Fellabaum, Buddy Cottrell, Carey Rector, Curtis Rector, Jerry Campbell, and Lucky Rector.
