Jerry Lee Paige
Funeral services for Jerry Lee Paige, a longtime Tushka, OK resident, were held Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Greg Strader officiating. Burial was in Tushka Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Paige was born October 29, 1939 to Donald Clapp and Irene Brasher Paige at Midland, TX and passed away September 19, 2022 at Durant, OK at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 21 days. He graduated from Tushka High School in 1959 and went on to attend SOSU where he received at Bachelor’s Degree in Arts. Jerry married Mary Frances (Faulkenberry) August 11, 1961 at Atoka, OK. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before her passing December 7, 2021. Jerry worked a number of years in construction, residential and commercial, was a policeman for Atoka and Stringtown Police Department and retired as Lake Patrolman. He was of the Baptist Faith, was a member of the Atoka Elks Lodge, served as Councilman and Vice Mayor and helped organize the town Charter of Tushka. He loved doing woodworking, carpentry work, running his dozer on the farm, drinking coffee at the truck stop and “reading his week old newspaper”, and “not visiting with people.”
Survivors include his daughters, Patricia Strader and husband Greg of Sanger, TX, Gina Hall and husband George of Boggy Depot, OK and Brenda Seay of Atoka; grandchildren, Chance Hall and wife Misty of Boggy Depot, Garland Leon Seay and wife Alisha of Hartshorne and Adam Seay of Ada, OK; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Samuel and Liam Hall of Boggy Depot; brother, Larry Daniel Paige of Oklahoma City; in-laws, John Faulkenberry and wife Nellie of Lehigh, OK and O. L. Faulkenberry and wife Frankie of Atoka; sisters-inlaw, Betty Burch of Canton, TX, and Margaret Belcher of Kingston, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Donald Clapp and Irene Brasher Paige; wife, Mary Paige; sisters, Betty Smith and Charlotte Poole and son-in-law, Garland Seay.
Casketbearers were Roger Mclninch, Ronald Mclninch, Troy Binnebose, Jimmy Wills, Brandon Morris and Chance Hall. Serving as honorary bearers were George Hall, Garland Seay, Homer Lee Belcher, Jr., and Steve Belcher.
