Cindy Meade retiring from Emerson

When asked about a special teacher, most people will remember the teacher who not only taught them to learn but who also who touched their lives. They will remember that the teacher made learning fun while maintaining a disciplined class. They knew the teacher cared about them as persons and not just as students. They would remember the person who did not consider teaching a job but a calling, a part of their lives. That is the teacher who made a lasting impact that continues to teach them today. For many people in this area, especially in Coalgate, that special teacher is Mrs. Mead. When commenting on her retirement, Mrs. Mead stated, “I know it is time, but I love this place. I love the people, the students…everything about it.” That is the passion that has touched so many lives.
