Kingston headed to state!

COALGATE’S PATRICK KINGSTON HEADED TO STATE — Coalgate High School track and fi eld competed in the regional meet at Plainview HS in Ardmore on April 30. Patrick Kingston qualifi ed for state in the 100m and 300m hurdles and will represent Coalgate HS at the May 6 state meet at Western Heights in Oklahoma City. Patrick is a two-time state qualifi er in hurdles. Congratulations, Patrick! Wishing you the best at state!

Double Trouble: 1972-73 boys basketball team to be inducted into HOF

Not to be upstaged, the 1972-73 Coalgate boys’ basketball team will soon be inducted into the Coalgate Hall of Fame, as did the Wildcat football team a couple of years ago. Both teams made it to the state semi-finals before ending their seasons.

Coalgate FFA wraps up successful year—2022 banquet set for May 7

Coalgate FFA members recently competed in several area and state FFA contests. The Freshman Agriscience Quiz Bowl team placed 1 at the southeast area contest in Seminole on April 14. They later went on to finish 8 at the state contest in Stillwater on April 23. Team members are Caden Russell, Blaine Ryan, Josie Smith, and Natalie Washburn.

Suspect arrested after assaulting wife, pushing her out of car, and leaving her on highway

Kristopher Lee Douglas, 38, whose residency is listed in court records as Nacogdoches, TX, was charged May 2 with felony domestic assault and battery resulting in great bodily harm plus multiple misdemeanor charges.
