Glen David Glass
Glenn David Glass, a Coalgate resident, was born on April 4, 1957, to George Dewey and Mary Etta (Bratton) Glass, at Coalgate, Oklahoma. He passed away on December 4, 2024, at his home in Coalgate at the age of 67 years and 8 months.
Glenngraduated from Coalgate High School in the Class of 1975. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from East Central University in 2000.
Glenn was employed with the State of Oklahoma Department of Commerce from 2004 to present. He retired as the Fire Chief of Coalgate after serving from 1984 to 2004.
Glenn married Vanessa Ann Madden on June 23, 2000, at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They enjoyed 24 years together.
Glenn was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Oklahoma Firefighters Association. Glenn was passionate about the fire service and fostered the brotherhood of firefighters both within his department and with every firefighter he trained or encountered. Glenn was a 20 year member of the board for a nonprofit Oklahoma Southeast promoting economic development in our state. He was a charter member of the Oklahoma Territorial Gunslingers and a member of a traveling gun show group that performed at festivals and at the Fort Worth Stockyards for many years. Glenn loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed buying and selling vehicles. Glenn spent a lot of time fishing on Lake Texoma. He enjoyed spending time at the family farm and would often post pictures on social media tagged ‘#FARMLIFE!’
Survivors include his wife of the home, in Coalgate, Vanessa Ann Madden Glass; children, Kara Byrd and husband Andy of Durant, Ok, Brandon madden and wife Seger, Kandace Madden-Farris all of Coalgate and Thomas Madden and wife Aspen of Norman, OK; grandchildren, Krete Byrd, Etta Byrd, Raeleigh Madden, Brick Madden, Ayden Allen and Lorna Roberts, River Allen, Rocksie Farris, Pierce Farris and Bryce Madden; great-grandchild, Drew Allen along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dearly loved friends.
