Service Thursday for Sherrie Denise Pebworth

Funeral services for Sherrie Denise (Ray) Pebworth, a Coalgate resident, will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Bro. Danny Kaye Ward officiating. Family night will be Wednesday evening 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Pebworth Family Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate.

Mrs. Pebworth was born April 28, 1963 to John G. and Elsie Maxine (White) Brannon Ray at Atoka, OK and passed away November 29, 2021 at Coalgate at the age of 58 years, 7 months and 1 day. She graduated from Atoka High School and Kiamichi AVTS Hugo, OK. Sherrie married Wesley “Ray” Pebworth at Lane, OK June 21, 1991. Together they had three children, Wesley Lloyd, Cody Ray and Racheal Denise. Sherrie practiced as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 37 years, owned and operate a daycare for several years and helped maintain the farm and cattle at their home at Salt Creek. She was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed reading, gardening, beading and crafting. Her favorite times were spent playing with her babies.

Survivors include her husband, Wesley Ray Pebworth of the home; sons, Wesley Lloyd Pebworth of Durant and Cody Ray Pebworth of Coalgate; daughter, Racheal Denise Pebworth of Coalgate; granddaughters, Vivian Isla Pebworth and MarLeigh Ray Pebworth, both of Coalgate; sister, Beverly Brannon Thompson and Randy Fletcher of Canadian OK; brother, Johnny Mack Ray and Brandy of Milburn, OK; brothers-in-law, Alvin and Delilah Pebworth of Coalgate, Dewayne and Sue Pebworth of Rattan, OK, Les Pebworth, and Jimmy and Michelle Lampkin all of Coalgate; sister-in-law Michelle and Mike Powell of Coalgate; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many dearly loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maxine Ray; grandparents, Otho and Irene Ray; in-laws, Mack and Lora White, Jim and Leona Lampkin, Dewey and Armilda Glass; and nephew Mark Stacy Thompson.

Casketbearers will be David Miller, Billy Smithart, Justin Pebworth, Kody Wiggins, Cody Pebworth, and Wes Pebworth. Honorary bearers will be Roy Deck, Nick Lee and Cliff Allen. Condolences may be sent to the family
