Marion Emry Floyd

Marion Emry Floyd died on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 in Oklahoma City, OK after a long illness. He was born August 10, 1937 in Coalgate, OK to Curtis and Geneva (Emry) Floyd. He married his high school sweetheart, Norma Sue Estes on September 3, 1955. They were married for 54 years.

Marion retired as a laboratory technologist in 2011 after working for over 40 years at Baptist Integris, Wewoka, and Durant hospitals.

Marion was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed serving his community on the Coal County Fair Board, serving as a deacon of Cottonwood Baptist Church, acting as a coach in numerous little league sports teams for his children, scoutmaster, and 4-H leader. His hobbies included gardening and bee keeping.

Marion never met a stranger and always held out his hand for a handshake. He attended East Central University and graduated from Central State University and attended the University of Oklahoma medical program for post graduate work.

Marion was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma Sue; his son, Lester Lynn Floyd; his grandson, Benjamin Floyd; and great-grandchild, Jamason Dobbs.

He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia and her husband, Jon Dobbs of Oklahoma City; son, Timothy Floyd and his wife, Rhonda of Paris, TX; and daughter, Susan Raulie and her husband, Stephen, of Owasso, OK; grandchildren, Jeffrey Dobbs, Christin Jedlicka, Brooke Jordan, Anna Floyd, Robin Floyd, Phillip Raulie, Jacob Raulie, and Brandon Raulie; seven great-grandchildren and many, many friends.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, OK. Visitation will be at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service in Bethany, OK on Wednesday, April 14, 9am-8pm, with family present from 6-8pm.
