Mary Mae Lunsford

Funeral services for Mary Mae (Hardy) Lunsford, a longtime Caney, OK resident, will be held Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Rev. Bill Roberson officiating. Burial will be in Caney Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lunsford was born July 5, 1961 to Sidney JD and Joyce Hardy at Caney, OK and passed away February 13, 2021 at Denison, TX at the age of 59. She attended Caney High School and married the love of her life, Ernest John Lunsford November 3, 1978 at Atoka. They celebrated 42 wonderful years of marriage in November of last year. Mary was the best housewife and stay at home mom. She was of the Baptist faith and was a quirky woman that loved her sheep, goats, llamas, dogs and any other animal that crossed her path. Mary loved to make quilts, bake, put puzzles together, cook and most of all spend time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest John Lunsford of Caney, OK; son, Jeremy Lunsford of Kiowa, OK; daughter, Tiffany Lunsford of Atwood, OK; siblings, Nancy Mahana, David Hardy, and Kathy Loftis, all of Caney, OK; mother, Joyce Hardy of Caney; family friends, Steven Koen of Coalgate, Red Lawson and wife Nita, Roger Richardson and wife Ann all of Caney; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney JD Hardy.
