Phyllis Jean Boyd passes away
Phyllis Jean (Clapp) Boyd, a Mustang, OK resident, passed away September 8, 2020 at Oklahoma City at the age of 75 years and 15 days. She was born August 24, 1945 to Richard “Bobbie” and Ermadean (Eddings) Hobgood at Ada, OK. Mrs. Boyd graduated from Coalgate High School and attended South Oklahoma City Community College where she received an Associate Degree. She was a travel agent, worked for a title and abstract company and was a hairdresser. Phyllis married Thurman James Boyd January 7, 1963 in Atoka, OK. She loved to travel and loved gardening.... there wasn’t anything she couldn’t grow. Everyone loved her amazing breakfasts and the sweets she always made too many of. They mostly loved when she got the silly giggles and couldn’t stop laughing. Phyllis will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Thurman James Boyd of Mustang, OK; son, Scott Boyd and wife Dena of Flower Mound, TX; grandchildren, Braden Boyd of Stillwater, OK, Preston Boyd, Colton Boyd, both of Flower Mound, TX, Stephanie Boyd of Carney, OK and James Michael Boyd of Chandler, OK; six great-grandchildren; brother, Don Clapp of Coalgate, OK; sister JudyBridges of Midwest City, OK; brother, Jerry Hobgood of Paris, TX and step-brother, Jimmy Clemens of Coalgate; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Boyd and brothers, Larry Bob Hobgood and Gary Clemens.
Services for Mrs. Boyd will be at a later date.
