Service held for Joyce Nadean Williams

Graveside services for Joyce Nadean Williams, a Wardville resident, were held Monday, May 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Wardville Cemetery in Wardville, OK with Bro. Hack Melton officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Williams was born May 8, 1934 to Theodore and Della Mae (Cordell) Burnett at McAlester, OK and passed away May 14, 2020 at Coalgate at the age of 86 years and 6 days. She attended Wardville and Limestone Gap schools and married Roy Williams on July 28, 1952 . He preceded her in death in 2016. Joyce was a seamstress at Blue Bell/Wrangler for 18 1/2 years. She was a member of the Harpers Valley Baptist Church and loved cooking, gardening tending flowers, sewing, talking on the phone with friends and tending cattle. Her greatest joy was taking care of her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Lonnie Williams and wife Beth and Sue Mills and husband Darrell, all of Wardville; grandchildren, Miranda English and husband Jerry of Coalgate, Melanie Callicoat and husband Rusty of Bixby, OK, Kara Eldridge, Shara Hall and husband Amos, all of Wardville and Justin Mills and wife Kaelyn of Piedmont, OK; great-grandchildren, Colin Callicoat, London Callicoat, Logan English, Cole English, Zander Eldridge and Rextin Mills; brother, Lloyd Burnett and wife Vesta of Kiowa, OK; along with many dear and loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Della Mae (Cordell) Burnett and husband, Roy Williams.

Casketbearers were Randy Thompson, Jerry English, Rusty Callicoat, Amos Hall, Neil Thompson and Kelvin Johnston. Honorary bearers were Jeff Newberry, Paul Davis, Lee Lambert and George Hall.
