Service held for Calvin Carl Long

A private family graveside service was held Thursday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Lehigh Cemetery in Lehigh, OK for Calvin Carl Long. Arrangement were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate.

Mr. Long was born June 1, 1934 to William Alfred and Nellie Belle (Holt) Long at Crawford, OK and passed away March 14, 2020 at Silsbee, TX at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 13 days. He attended Crawford, OK Public Schools, graduating in 1952. Calvin married Shirley Ann Vaughan July 31, 1954. She preceded him in death January 3, 2003. Calvin worked for the Natural Gas Pipeline Company, retiring in 1991. He loved to do yard work and wood work in his shop. His greatest joy was visiting with his grandkids.

Survivors include two sons, Terry J. Long and wife Sharon of Silsbee, TX and Bobby Long of Beaver, OK; three daughters, La Carla Sutton and husband Phill of Forgan, OK, Cheryl Heiers and husband Wes of Leflore, OK, and Pepper Long of Beaver, OK; two siblings, James F. Long and wife Dora of Amarillo, TX and Barbara Ann Milligan and husband Ray of OKC, OK; grandchildren, Andrew Long, Jacob Long, Sarah Long, Elizabeth Wood, Rachael Beck, Audie Sutton, Phillip Sutton, Jr., Amy Poole, KJ Ridens, Amanda Heiers, CW Heiers, Tamara Smotherman, Skylar Sanchez, Nova Tull, Danika Tull, Georgia Tull; great-grandchildren, Adeline Long, Luke Beck, Leo Beck, Sofia Smotherman, Logan Trapp, Neaven Trapp, Trinity Sutton, Trevor Sutton, Bridgett Delsigne, Alex Ridens, Brendyn Poole, Jacob Poole, Destiny Smith, Jacen Smith, Kennedy Ridens, and Dakota Ridens; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
