Service held for Garry Joe Clemens

Memorial services for Garry Joe Clemens, an Atoka resident, were held Friday, June 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coal-gate with Calvin Prince officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements.

Garry was born May 16, 1946 to Jess and Mildred Juanita (Summers) Clemens at Coalgate, OK and passed away June 4, 2019 at Atoka, OK in his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 73 years and 19 days. He attended and graduated from Coalgate High School in 1964. On July 16, 1995, he married Carol Ann Sheffield in Las Vegas, NV. Garry was a carpenter, like his Savior Jesus Christ.

He enjoyed working, building and restoring his 55 Chevy Bel Air.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann (Sheffield) Clemens of Atoka, OK; daughter, Shardae Clemens and fiance Dan Edel of Cocoa, FL; son, Lance Clemens and wife Anna of Plano, TX; granddaughters, Alli Joe Clemens, Angelina Edel, both of Cocoa, FL, Emma Clemens, Hannah Clemens and Kassidee Smith all of Plano, TX; stepchildren, Traci Prince and husband Calvin of Ada, OK, Misty Harvey and husband Jay, Julie Chavers and husband Russ and Derek Marlow and Scarlet all of Atoka; step-grandchildren, Cale and Tryce Prince, Spencer and Jared Harvey, Zeak and Triston Marlow and Jordan and Sarah Chavers; brothers, Jim Clemens and wife Marilyn of Coalgate and Jerry Hobgood and wife Robbie of Paris, TX; sister, Judy Bridges and husband Garry of Midwest City, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews and dearly loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jess Willard Clemens; mother, Mildred Juanita (Summers) Hobgood; stepfather, Bobby Hob-good; and brothers, James Ferrell Hobgood and Larry Bob Hobgood.
