Tommy Ray Morgan

Funeral services for Tommy Ray Morgan, a Centrahoma resident, were held Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Lonnie Smith and David Daffern officiating, assisted by Sister Paula Carney. Burial was in the Centrahoma Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Morgan was born July 16, 1951 to Dorothy Mae Morgan at Ada, OK and passed away January 12, 2021 at Ada at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 27 days. He attended Centrahoma and Tupelo Schools and married Shirley Von Heck October 13, 1969. She preceded him in death December 30, 2020. Tommy proudly served in the U. S. Army from 1974-1978.

He was a carpenter and worked as a Coalgate police officer from 1978- 1981. Over the years he worked as a security guard and the maintenance director for Carl Albert Hospital. Tommy enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching and reading westerns. He was a member of the Chickasaw Nation. Tommy was very involved with the Choctaw Nation and served as president of the Choctaw Senior Citizens of District 12. His greatest joys were going to his grandchildren’s sporting events and driving his beloved wife, Shirley, anywhere and everywhere she wanted to go.

Survivors include his daughters, Renay (Morgan) Foreman of Tupelo, Christy (Morgan) Robinson and husband Christopher of Coalgate and Sara Leandrea Morgan of Ada; grandchildren, Joseph Foreman and fiance’ Madalen Clifford of Coalgate, Seth Foreman of Las Vegas, NV, Luke Foreman of Tupelo, Zayne Davis, Zachary Davis and Morgan Davis, all of Coalgate; siblings, Doyle Morgan and wife Marilyn Kay, Jacky Gold, William Gold, Keeva Ward, all of Ada, J W. Gold of Byers, Tony Gold of Ada, Dottie Gold of Wenatchee, WA, Retha Gold, Vonda Gold, Clayton Tisdell, Lorri Tisdell all of Ada; Aunt, Wanda Traylor of Ada, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Von (Heck) Morgan; parents, Tom Morgan and Lora Mae (Owens) Morgan; mother, Dorothy Mae Morgan; son-in-law Juan Foreman; brothers, Bill Gold and Michael Gold; and uncle Raymond Morgan.

Casketbearers were Chase Heck, Matt Morgan, Allen Chapman, Christopher Robinson, Jerry Daffern, and Bob Andrews. Honorary bearers were Joseph Foreman, Zayne Davis, Seth Foreman, Zachary Davis, Luke Foreman and Morgan Davis.
