Theodore Robert Leland, Jr.

Funeral services for Theodore Robert Leland, Jr., a Sulphur resident, were held Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Tupelo Baptist Church in Tupelo, Oklahoma with Tony Randol officiating, assisted by Jerry Romines. Interment was in Wilson Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Theodore was born October 28, 1964 to Theodore Leland Sr. and Terry Jowanna Leland at West Covina, CA and passed away October 15, 2024 at Oklahoma City at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 17 days. He attended Tupelo Schools and was a Mud Engineer in the oilfield. Theodore married Selina Ruth Knighten on September 28, 1983 at Tupelo, Oklahoma.

He attended Davis First Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the guitar, writing music and poetry, reading his Bible, collecting things, and was a big history buff. To Theodore, music was his therapy. His favorite times were spent with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Heather Wesberry and husband Jared of Davis, OK, Anna Lochridge and husband Josh of Sulphur, OK, Seth Leland of Ada, OK and Grace Leland and fiance Dakota Powell of Lehigh; grandchildren, Padyn We s b e r r y , Braylee Lochridge, Harper We s b e r r y , Kooper Webb, Olivia Lochridge, Piper Lochridge, and Ledger Powell; father Ted Leland, Sr. of Salt Lake City, Utah; father, Tim Cass of Ada; siblings, Darlann Romines and husband Jerry of Tupelo, Anna Veronesi of Tulsa, David Leland and wife Stephanie of Tupelo, Kendra Oliveras and husband Rick of Gilbert, AZ, Ryan Leland, Josh Leland, both of Salt Lake City, UT, Dana Turner and husband Jacky of Stonewall, Tamara Sarrah-Porter of Skiatook, OK and Shawni Jioras of CA.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Terry Cass; baby daughter, Drew Faith Leland; sister, Terri Leland-Davis; maternal grandmother, Vidoma Laster Sando.

Casketbearers were Travis Romines, Trevor Davis, Tanner Davis, Jerry Romines, Pat Hughes, Tim Cass, David Leland, and Ronnie Davis. Honorary bearers were Padyn Wesberry, Josh Leland, Ryan Leland, Jared Romines, Mike Lee, Connie Lee, Jared Wesberry and Josh Lochridge.
