Service today for Catherine Williams

Graveside services for Catherine An-nit (John) Williams, a Stuart resident, will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 1:00 p.m at Rose Dale

Cemetery in Ada, Oklahoma with Marla Chesser officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Williams was born January 14, 1942 to Edward and Alice Folota (Perry) John at Wardville, OK and passed away March 25, 2019 at her home in Stuart, OK at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 11 days. She attended and graduated from Atoka High School and married Duward Williams December 19, 1961 in Van Buren, AR. He preceded her in death March 19, 2016. Catherine was a retired LPN and was a member of the Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Holdenville. She loved to quilt and crochet.

Survivors include her children, Kathy Hightower of Holdenville, La-Vonda Peckio and husband Paul of Stuart, and Leta Michelle Simmer of OKC; grandchildren, Elizabeth Shupe of Holdenville, LCpl. Micah Simmer of Okinawa, Japan, Brenna Hamilton of Stuart, and Quinn Simmer of OKC; great- granddaughter, Kayden Shupe

Holdenville; brother, Wilburn Shields of McAlester; brother-in-law, Lewis Williams and wife Pauletta of Stuart; nieces, Paula Brown and husband Wesley of Lula, OK, Pam Sigman and husband Stacy of Holdenville, Opal Harrell and husband Brad of Cambridge, MN; nephew, Duward Williams and wife Joy of Stuart; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Leroy John, Lenard John; and sisters, Lillie Harris, Julia Homer and Ellie Pickens.

Casketbearers will be Micah Simmer, Duward “Cap” Williams, Wesley Brown, Paul Peckio, John Wesley Brown, and Jaedyn Winters. Honorary bearers will be Tony Santos and Lewis Williams.
