Service held for Nelson M. Yoder

Funeral services for Nelson M. Yoder, a Clarita resident, were held Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the Yoder Home in Chouteau, OK with Bishop Perry Yoder officiating. Burial was in Chouteau Amish Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Yoder was born September 29, 1938 to Melvin and Edna (Miller) Yoder at Chouteau, OK and passed away July 5, 2019 at Clarita, OK at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 6 days. He was a farmer and a member of the Amish Church. Nelson married Ida Miller January 26, 1961 at Chouteau, OK. She preceded him in death September 3, 2011.

Survivors include two sons, Allen (Mary) Yoder, Daniel (Katherine) Yoder; three daughters, Lydia (Abe) Hershberger, Edna (Mervin) Miller and Mary (Cristie) Miller; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty- one great-grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; and one brother-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one sister; son, Lester Yoder and great-grandson, Joshua Yoder.

Casketbearers were Melvin Yoder, Matthew Miller, Devon Yoder, Daniel Hershberger, James Miller and Mervin Yoder.
