Service held for Meta Kay Milligan

Meta Kay Milligan, 74, of McAlester, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in McAlester. 

A memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Matt Judkins officiating.

Cremation arrangements entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the hospice of your choice.

Meta was born to Otto and Lorraine (Cook) Sandmann on August 30, 1944 in Sherman, Texas. She attended and graduated from Coalgate High School.

She went on to further her education and completed a Masters degree in Social Work.

She worked as a social worker for McAlester Regional Health Care Center where she retired after 20 years.

She enjoyed her grandchildren, traveling, reading, and shopping at Goodwill.

She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood organization and a member of the McAlester First United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Otto Sandmann and Lorraine (Cook) Sandmann.

Meta is survived by her husband: Bill Milligan of McAlester; son: Will and wife, Joy; daughter: Sarah and husband, Nate; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Claire, William, Hazel, and Lowell; and numerous other family and friends.
