Service held for James Allen Jones

Graveside services for James Allen Jones, an Allen resident, were held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Byrd’s Prairie Cemetery in Tupelo with Bro. Thomas King officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jones was born April 22, 1954 to WR and Nell Louise (Scott) Jones at Coalgate and passed away February 10, 2022 at Ada, OK at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 19 days.

He graduated from Tupelo High School and received his Master’s Degree from East Central University. James was a rehab counselor. He grew up in the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed fishing, watching old westerns, and collecting candy containers and antiques. Survivors include his

Survivors include his brothers, Gary Jones and wife LeaAnne of Allen, OK and Walter Jones and wife Mary of Claremore, OK; sister, Judy Rhoads of Newcastle, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents, WR and Nell Louise (Scott) Jones and brother, Ernest Ray Jones.

Casketbearers were Jon Rhoads, Jeremy Rhoads, Thomas King, Billy Menie, Larry Braswell and John Schutte.
