Service held for Harvey DeWayne Furr
Funeral services for Harvey De-Wayne Furr, a Tupelo resident, were held Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Mr. James Moore officiating. Burial was in Byrd’s Prairie Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Furr was born March 8, 1963 to Harvey Newton and Omega Ruth (Dority) Furr at Coalgate and passed away December 9, 2019 at Tupelo at the age of 56 years, 9 months and one day. He attended Tupelo Schools, graduating in 1981, then he attended Tulsa Welding School. Harvey was a derrick hand in the oil field and a Sales and Logistics Manager at Cammond Industries. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, arrowhead hunting, camping, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and shooting the “bull” with his friends and family.
Survivors include his children, Sagrean Foreman and husband Jeremiah of Coalgate, Chelsea “Hoss” Phelps and husband Brad, Jacob Furr and wife Kala, Jaycee Furr all of Ada and Colton Furr of Moore, OK; grandchildren, Jacob, Carlee and Miah Foreman, Kaidence and Knox Phelps, Kaelyn, Zoee, Khloe, Jaelyn, Mae Mae, River and Jessi Furr; and sister, Sherri Harkins of Tupelo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Daniel Furr and sister, Michele McDonald.
Casketbearers were Billy Harkins, Jeremiah Foreman, Brad Phelps, Big Al Peck, Brad Maynard and Zac Maynard. Honorary bearers were Mike Hendley, Red Stringer, DelJuan Foreman, Mike Lee, Ralph Wilson, Vincent Miller, Keith Chew, Jerry George, Josh Nelson, Shark Man Stovall, Teddy Leland, Mike Whitson, Diania Maggia and Barry Maggia.
