Service held for Gay Barnett

Funeral services for Gay (McInnis) Barnett were held Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Praise and Worship Center with Pastor David Unsell officiating. Burial was in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Barnett was born

Mrs. Barnett was born February 28, 1938 to C. R. and Katherine (Maloney) McInnis in Coalgate, OK and passed away August 19, 2020 at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 22 days at her home in Coalgate surrounded by her family. She attended Coalgate Schools and graduated in 1956, then attended ECU majoring in drama. Gay was a housewife and owned and operated Palace Drug Store. She married Thomas Ray Barnett June 26, 1956 at the Coalgate Methodist Church. He preceded her in death November 5, 2012. Gay was a member of the Coalgate Methodist Church and Cornerstone Praise and Worship Center. She enjoyed painting, crafts and music. Gay used to sing with her dad at churches all around and was in a musical and productions in Eureka Springs. One of Gay’s greatest treasures was spending time with her family, laughing and loving each moment with her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Tammie Barnett, Tommie Stanberry and husband Don, and Cheri Shores and husband David all of Coalgate; grandchildren, Jason Farley and wife Luticia of Coalgate, Angela Hall and husband Terry of Ashland, OK, Farra Farley, Chad Trentham and wife Brittany, Jared Collins and wife Ashley, David T. Shores, all of Coalgate, Travis Stanberry and wife Kristie of Ada, Troy Stanberry and wife Misty of Moore, Trent Stanberry and wife Destiny of Kingston, Kenneth Shores and wife Cassie and Stephen Shores and wife Tori all of Coalgate; Twenty-three greatgrandchildren; four greatgreat-grandchildren, along with numerous other relatives and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Bryan Thomas Barnett; sister, Joy Roberts McInnis; brother, Claude Ray McInnis (Happy); grandmother, Elizabeth McInnis; maternal grandmother, Viola West; paternal grandfather, Ross Maloney; mother-in-law, Grace Barnett; and cousins, Sheila Helvey, Bobby Jean McInnis and Peggy Jane McInnis.

Casketbearers were Jared Collins, Chad Trentham, David T. Shores, Triston Farley Marlow, Zeak Marlow, Jason Farley, Trapper Farley and Gunner Farley. Honorary bearers were Joe Pasquali, Jay Pasquali, R. J. Helton, Joe Burns and Bill Avanzini.
