Our sympathies to the families of George Dewey Glass, Jr.

Graveside services for George Dewey Glass, Jr., a Coalgate resident, were held Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Lehigh Cemetery with Dewayne Pebworth officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Glass was born December 12, 1932 to George Dewey, Sr. and Armilda Mae (Isbel) Glass at Wardville, OK and passed away June 8, 2021 at Coalgate at the age of 88 years, 5 months and 27 days. He was in the Army during the Korean Conflict and married Mary Etta Bratton December 26, 1952. She preceded him in death February 13, 2019. George was a farmer and rancher and enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, working with his cattle and raising his garden.

Survivors include his son, Glenn David Glass and wife Vanessa Ann Madden-Glass of Coalgate; grandchildren, Kara Jo Byrd and husband Andy of Durant, OK, Brandon Madden and wife Seger of Coalgate, Thomas Madden and wife Aspen of Edmond, OK and Kandace Madden of Coalgate; great-grandchildren, Krete and Etta Byrd, Brick and Raeleigh Madden, Bryce Madden, River and Ayden Allen and Rocksie Farris. He was preceded in death by his parent; wife; sister, Mary Leona (Glass) Lampkin; and grandson-in-law, Heath Farris.

Casketbearers were Thomas Madden, Bob Burns, Brandon Madden, Alvin Pebworth, Eddie Roebuck, and Dewayne Pebworth.
