Our Sympathies Extended to the Family of Rickey Gene Pelts

Funeral services for Rickey Gene Pelts, a Coalgate resident, will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor Larry Beach officiating. Burial will be in Bera Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements. Family night is Wednesday, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Pelts was born January 18, 1958 to William Sampson and Alice LeDonia Minnie Bell (Cole) Pelts at Coalgate and passed away August 16, 2024 at Coalgate at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 8 days. He graduated from Atoka High School with the class of ‘78 and married Judy Ann O’Flannagan on September 25, 1987 at Atoka. They enjoyed 36 years together before his passing. Rickey worked at Ethan Allen for 29 years. After Ethan Allen, he worked for Sundowner Trailers, Walmart and the Manor in Coalgate. He enjoyed fishing and watching wrestling and westerns. Rickey loved going to church and his favorite times were spent with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Ann (O’Flannagan) Pelts of the home in Coalgate; daughters, Crystal Scott and husband Richard of Caddo, OK and Jeniffer Pelts of Pryor, OK; sister, Judy Smith and husband Steve of Clayton, OK; brother, David Pelts of Elmore City, OK; grandchildren, Emilee Scott, Jocelyn Scott, Rebecca Scott and RJ Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Sampson and Alice LeDonia Minnie Bell (Cole) Pelts; sister, Linda Clay; baby sister, Susie Louise Pelts; and mother-in-law JoAnn O’Flannagan. Casketbearers will be Bryce Misner, Jimmy O’Flannagan, Jerry Don McCoy, Albert Cole, Lewis Cole and Mike Hensley. Condolences may be sent to the family by email to: brownsfscoalgate@sbcglobal. net.
