Our Sympathies Extended to the Family of Alice Joyce Adams
Funeral services for Alice Joyce (Jackman) Adams, a Coalgate resident, will be held Friday, August 23, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Cottonwood Baptist Church with Bro. Eddie Hogue officiating. Burial will be in Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn, OK with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangement. Family night is Thursday evening 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Ms. Adams was born August 28, 1948 to William Haynes and Lena Elizabeth (Bradshaw) Jackman at Enterprise, OK and passed away August 18, 2024 at her home in Coalgate surrounded by the ones she loved. She was 75 years, 11 months and 21 days of age. Alice graduated from Wapanucka High School then attended Murray State College and Southeastern Oklahoma State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree She was a teacher for many years until her retirement. Alice married Bobby Eugene Adams on January 25, 1968. They were blessed with 30 years together before his passing on February 25, 1998. Alice was a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing and camping and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Eric Kent Adams of Coalgate, OK; daughters, Jessie Lee Ann Major and husband Major and Sheila Yvonne Hall and husband Charlie all of Coalgate; siblings, Billie Parker, Houston Jackson both of Grove, OK, Diane Perrymore and husband Greg of Moore, OK, Jim Short and wife Lavonia of Collinsville, OK, Ronald Jackman and wife Dianne of Union City, OK and Larry Knight and wife Johnnie of Lane, OK; grandchildren, Marci Hooper, Colton Adams, Kyle & Erica Winnett, Dustin and Tyanna Adams, Joseph and Chelsea Adams, Ashlynn Major, Bobbi Hall and Devin and Donna English; great-grandchildren, Briana, Ethan and Luke Hooper, Remmington Adams, Wyatt Winnett, Kizer Adams, Oakley, Archer and Indie Adams, Carter, Kylee and Jade Adams, and Loralie Boulware; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Haynes and Lena Elizabeth (Bradshaw) Jackman; husband, Bobby Adams; granddaughter, Erin Rae Riddle; great-grandson, Dawson English; sisters, Lena Watson and Carolyn Couch; brothers, Jackie Jackman and Burl Jackman; father and mother-in-law, Dan and Sue Adams; sisters-in-law, Wilva Jackman and Patsy Adams; brothers-in-law, Winton Parker and Gary Don Adams; nieces, Becky Watson, Melissa and Lindy Ann Maupin; nephew, Lil Ronnie Jackman; and great-nephew, Lane Brassfield.
Casketbearers will be Willy Short, Jimmy Short, Trevor Perrymore, Cody Knight, Roger Watson, and Dane Couch. Serving as honorary bearers will be Dustin Adams, Joe Adams, Devin English, Colton Adams, Kyle Winnett, Charlie Hall and Thad Major.
