Nadine Marchand Harris

It is with overwhelming sadness that the family of Nadine Marchand Harris announce her sudden passing on Friday, March 28, 2025 at the age of 99.
Nadine was born in Lehigh, OklahomaonJanuary29,1926to Mary Ivy (nee Ford) and Charles Francis Marchand. Nadine was the youngest of six daughters and lovingly nicknamed “Pete” by her father. She grew up a tomboy spending most days outside with her pony Soup, helping her father in the orchard or fishing in Muddy Boggy with classmates. On one occasion while making deliveries with her father, Nadine met a boy named Dewey whom five years later would become her husband on March 4, 1943, the love of her life. Nadine and Dewey built a wonderful life together living in New Mexico, California, and Texas before settling back in Oklahoma. They were devoted, loving parents to their three children, Dewey DeWayne, Billy Francis and Margaret.
Nadine worked in many places helping to support her family, with the most rewarding being Sunny Side Center where she cared for and taught disabled adults and the forgotten elderly. Nadine’s can-do attitude and big heart impacted hundreds of thankful individuals who missed her dearly when she retired after 25 years.
Nadine was known to cherish a brimming table of family and friends for Sunday supper. She enjoyed the love and laughter of a full house. Among many of her specialties, fried chicken and Blackberry Wine Cake are family favorites. Taking her grandchildren to the neighborhood park to feed the ducks and ride the train was always a treat. These treasured memories we hold close to our hearts.
Nadine will be lovingly remembered by her children Margaret Nadine Haddox and Dewey DeWayne Harris; four grand-daughters (spouse) Rebecca Massey (Russell), Francine Reaville (Brad), Gayla Mock (Burk), and Carla Haddox; 12 great-grandchildren Chelsea Shelton (Jeremy), Hunter Fleckenstein, Taylor Massey, Cody Massey, Dillon Massey, Jacob Swan (Briana), Jeremy Swan, Cassie Keller (Gene), Meghan Reaville (Jennifer), Emma Reaville, Rachel Mock (Mitchel), Alisia Haddox, Tayiva Toles; and nine greatgreat grandchildren Kensley, Kaisley and Lincoln Shelton, Jaxon and Wesley Swan, Jayce Swan, Kane Keller, Emerson Fleckenstein, and Elaina Reaville.
She will also be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews spanning three generations. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our many cousins who spent countless hours keeping our Grandma in your hearts and in your prayers. Aunt Pete loved hearing from each and every one of you.
