Michael Wayne Hale
Friends and family will have a service at a later date for Michael Wayne Hale, a Tupelo resident.
Michael was born March 7, 1948, to R.D. Hale and Charlene (Ables) Hale, at Oakland, California. He passed away on January 7, 2025 at Denison, Texas, at the age of 76 years and 10 months. Michael graduated from South Garland High School, Garland, Texas, in 1966. As a teenager, Mike started working as a grocery store stocker and eventually moved up to store manager and then a store owner. Later, Mike worked in the heavy material handling equipment field as a salesman. He worked for Clark Equipment and then, Shoppa’s Material Handling, selling forklifts. He was so successful that he was the #1 salesman for Toyota nationwide for about 10 years. He earned many worldwide trips that he and Jill enjoyed. He retired in 2012 and Mike and Jill bought property in Oklahoma where they resided until his death.
Mike married Jill (Janelle) and they enjoyed 47 years together before his passing. He was an avid fisherman and got to fish all over the world. He also enjoyed hunting, especially on his own property. Mike had much love for his pets, Gus and Jack, who miss him very much already. He had a large family and loved his sistersin- law as if they were his own sisters. He will be forever missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and all his dear friends.
Survivorsincludehiswife, Janelle (Jill Smithhart) of the home in Tupelo, OK; children, Rodney Hale and wife Lynette of San Antonio, TX, Marcy Kight and husband Steven of McKinney, TX and Amy Henry of Colbert, OK; grandchildren, Lauren Hale, Harrison Hale, Lillian Hale and Kaden Henry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R. D. Hale and Charlene (Ables) Hale; and sister Twana ( Hale) Williams.
