Mark Alan Manion
Funeral services for Mark Alan Manion, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident, were held Monday, March 18, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Joey Lansdale, Jim Branch and Chris Graham officiating. Burial was in Wards Chapel Cemetery in Atoka with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Manion was born October 13, 1962 to Everett Manard and Betty Sue (Moore) Manion at Coalgate and passed away March 13, 2024 at Tulsa at the age of 61 years and 5 months. He graduated from Stringtown High school in the class of 1980 and married Shirley Jean Gabriel June 14, 2014 at Denison, TX. They got to enjoy nearly 10 years of marriage before his passing.
Mark was a heavy equipment operator for Holcim. He received Fireman of the Year in 1999 and later retired as Captain from the Atoka Fire Department. He placed in the top 20 in the 1988 Spring Invitational Archery Event. Mark enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing cornhole, and being with his family, especially the grandbabies.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Jean Manion of the home in Atoka; sons, Kevin Manion, Eric Manion and wife Ally, and Adam Manion and wife Amber; daughter, Steevie Leflore; sister, Barbara Farris; brother, Miles “Rusty” Manion and wife Ruth; sister-in-law Donalda Manion Walker; twelve grandchildren; ten great-greatg randchildren and one on the way; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Betty Sue Manion; brother, Rick “Ricky” Manard Manion; brother-in-law, Jim Farris and in-laws, Josh and Marlene Gabriel.
Casketbearers were J. R. Gabriel, Thomas Adams, John Holt, Jesse McIninch, Bailey McIninch and Bobby Giles, Jr. Serving as honorary bearers were John Hagemier, Hewey Sewell, Micheal Wilson, Sammy Johnson, Shannon Rains, and John W. Hagemier.
